Exploring different styles in Art Maker’s Club

This month I followed a lot of Bardot Brush tutorials to explore different artistic styles. For me, the most overwhelming and intimidating parts of drawing are deciding what subject to draw and which brushes/style to use. Following along with video tutorials removes the decision-paralysis piece and helps me use my (very limited!) time actually making art.

This month I’m most proud of my midcentury modern instrument illustrations. I can’t wait to try more like this!

Pinkalicious Ice Cream

I had fun hiding a heart-shaped cherry and waffle cone in this festive watercolor for Valentine’s Day.

Doodles: Birds with Instruments

I’d like to continue to drawing (song)birds with instruments… here are some initial sketches, and we’ll see where they go from here!

10-Minute Still Life

Sometimes all I have is a few minutes before Dottie’s nap is over, so a frantic gouache-y sketch is all I can manage.

Art Maker’s Club

I joined Art Maker’s Club this month! I love all of the Bardot Brush tutorials and Procreate brushes, and I’m excited to take this next step to further my creative practice and join an artistic community. Here are some of the pieces I’ve made from the membership courses.
